1. Agreement & Booking Confirmation
A contract between TravelBug Sri Lanka and the traveler comes into effect once:
- The custom itinerary, route, vehicle category, and itemized quotation are agreed in writing via Email or official WhatsApp concierge.
- A formal booking confirmation voucher is issued detailing your chauffeur assignment and pickup logistics.
2. Standard Inclusions & Exclusions
Standard Inclusions (Always Included)
- Dedicated, air-conditioned private vehicle throughout your booked itinerary.
- All vehicle fuel, mileage limits agreed in the voucher, and expressway toll charges.
- English-fluent, background-checked professional chauffeur-guide.
- Driver food, lodging, and daily allowances (handled 100% by TravelBug).
- Comprehensive passenger and vehicle insurance coverage.
- Flight tracking for airport pickups (no penalty for delayed flights).
Standard Exclusions (Unless Explicitly Added)
- International flights and Sri Lanka ETA tourist visa fees.
- Personal monument/national park entrance tickets (unless selected in an all-inclusive package).
- Traveler meals, beverages, and personal expenses.
- Voluntary gratuities and driver tips (discretionary based on your satisfaction).
3. The Zero Commission Shopping Guarantee
TravelBug enforces a strict contractual anti-kickback policy across all assigned chauffeurs and tour guides:
Your driver is contractually forbidden from making unscheduled detours or pressuring you into commercial gem shops, spice gardens, wood carving stores, or tea factories where kickbacks are paid. You maintain 100% control over where you stop, shop, and dine.
4. Vehicle Luggage Limits & Safety
To ensure physical comfort during long mountain and highway drives, please observe standard passenger and luggage limits:
- Sedan (Prius/Allion/Axio): Recommended for 1–3 passengers with 2 large suitcases and 2 daypacks.
- Executive SUV (Vessel/CR-V/Raize): Recommended for 1–4 passengers with 3 large suitcases.
- High-Roof Van (KDH/Super GL): Recommended for 4–7 passengers with ample luggage and surfboards/strollers.
If you have oversized luggage or sporting equipment, please inform us in advance so we assign the appropriate vehicle class.
5. Scenic Train Tickets & Wildlife Safaris
Scenic train reservations (e.g., Kandy to Ella) are operated by Sri Lanka Railways under strict government quota systems opening 30 days prior to travel. TravelBug secures reserved seats wherever possible. If government train strikes or scheduled maintenance occur, your private driver will escort you by road through scenic tea country viewpoints.
6. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
